Provide Secure, Read-Only Portfolio Access to Clients

DocketTrak subscribers can give clients and other authorized users direct access to relevant records and reports without exposing unrelated portfolio information.

Secure Client Logins

Each authorized client user can receive an individual login to DocketTrak. Subscriber administrators control access and can add or remove users as needs change.

Capabilities include:

  • Individual client user accounts
    Each client user signs in with an account assigned to that individual rather than sharing a common login.
  • Unlimited client users
    Subscribers can provide access to the number of client users needed for their collaboration requirements.
  • Secure authentication
    Client users authenticate before accessing DocketTrak information.
  • Administrator-controlled access
    Subscriber Admin users create accounts and control which records each client user may view.
  • Two-factor authentication where configured
    Two-factor authentication can add a second verification step for client users when enabled.
  • Account lockout protections
    Repeated unsuccessful login attempts trigger DocketTrak’s account-lockout protection.

Read-Only Access

Client access is read-only, allowing authorized users to review information without changing subscriber records, deadlines or settings.

Capabilities include:

  • View authorized records
    Clients can open the patent, trademark and other records made available to them.
  • No editing of docketing data
    Client users cannot change the fields maintained by the subscriber.
  • No deadline-rule changes
    Client access does not permit modification of Auto Docket Templates or calculated events.
  • No account-setting access
    Subscriber administration and configuration remain unavailable to client users.
  • Controlled document access
    Attached documents are visible only when the user is authorized for the associated record and document access.
  • Reduced need for duplicate status requests
    Direct read-only access lets clients consult current information without requesting a newly prepared report each time.

Client-Specific Records and Views

Access can be limited to records associated with the authorized client. Views can present the fields and portfolio information most useful to that audience.

Capabilities include:

  • Access limited to authorized client records
    A client user sees only the records assigned to that client and permitted by the subscriber.
  • Client-specific views
    Views can be configured to organize information for a particular client audience.
  • Selected grid columns
    Subscribers control which available fields are displayed in the client-facing grid.
  • Patent, trademark and other record access
    Authorized clients can review the supported record types made available to them.
  • Upcoming-event reporting
    Views can present upcoming events and deadlines for the client’s authorized portfolio.
  • Excel export where permitted
    Client users can export available view information when that capability is allowed by the subscriber.

Collaboration without Duplicate Systems

Direct access gives clients current information from the subscriber’s DocketTrak account, reducing the need to maintain a separate portal or repeatedly recreate reports.

  • Current portfolio information
    Clients review information maintained in the subscriber’s active DocketTrak records.
  • Shared source of record
    Subscriber staff and authorized clients consult the same underlying portfolio data.
  • Fewer manual status reports
    Routine access can reduce the number of reports staff must prepare in response to individual status requests.
  • Controlled availability of supporting information
    The subscriber determines which records, fields and documents are available to each client user.
  • Subscriber administration
    The subscriber retains control of user accounts, assignments, permissions and record maintenance.
  • Use with reminder and reporting workflows
    Client access complements DocketTrak views, exports, communications and scheduled reporting.

Controlled Visibility for Clients

Client Access extends useful DocketTrak information to authorized outside users while preserving read-only controls and subscriber ownership of docketing data.
